Message from the Editors
This issue marks the eleventh publication of the Chicago Policy Review, and once again it
showcases diverse thought from academicians, practitioners, and students. Since its founding in 1996, the
Chicago Policy Review has sought to provide a forum for rigorous analysis of the policy issues that affect
global and local communities. This yearŐs issue is no exception. Volume 9 focuses on the multi-faceted dynamics of
globalization, an especially timely topic with the increasingly beneficial yet turbulent integration of economies and
societies around the world
This yearŐs volume addresses not only unique perspectives on globalization, but also points to possible
strategies to help overcome turmoil as a result of nations coming into greater contact with one another. From discussing the
regional situation of the Caribbean and Asia to proposing fresh policy solutions to the problems of child labor, this volume
of the Chicago Policy Review constructively adds to the debate over the merits and flaws of the ongoing process of
globalization.
The journal would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the staff. We are
grateful for the continued support of the Harris School administration. With their backing, the Chicago Policy Review
will continue to stretch its boundaries and contribute relevant yet timely pieces for discussion in the public policy arena.
We hope that you find the articles in this issue insightful and informative. We encourage and welcome
your comments and suggestions for future issues of the Chicago Policy Review.
