Recent Projects
Office of the President - Economic Cabinet
Mexico City, Mexico
Students developed a Growth Diagnosis for Mexico. Along with this diagnosis they provided public policy recommendations aimed at helping to increase Mexico's economic growth. The project confirmed the most important factors that should be considered. Students submitted two comprehensive documents that continue to be seen as significant contributions to the Economic Cabinet’s efforts in creating strategies to combat relevant constraints to economic growth.
Chicago Community Trust
Chicago, IL
Students researched, interviewed, and surveyed several programs on school leadership in Chicago. They produced a document which helped Chicago Community Trust evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs. Interns were then able to make recommendations for future funding opportunities in various areas. After the internship, some students were hired on a short-term basis to produce another document that could then be used to promote the organization's work in this area.
Ministry of Industry and Trade
Amman, Jordan
Interns analyzed Jordan and U.S. international trade data and conducted a before and after cost-benefit analysis of the Jordan-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, identifying benefits achieved by Jordan over various time periods. They conducted critical research that assisted in the development of a point of view through knowledge-exchange documents on research relating to “subsidies in services” in accordance with the GATS and was delivered to senior Ministry staff. Interns then prepared recommendations for improving domestic monitoring, enforcement, and implementation policies to accelerate the process of meeting WTO standards.
