Marcos Rangel Awarded Best Paper from Royal Economic Society

For a paper published in the Economic Journal on alimony and household resources in Brazil, Assistant Professor Marcos Rangel has received an award for best paper in 2006 from the Royal Economic Society.

Entitled "Alimony Rights and Intrahousehold Allocation of Resources: Evidence from Brazil," the paper was published in the July 2006 Economic Journal, and was described in the award letter as "...an insightful and careful empirical analysis in an under researched area and one that will both influence and set standards for future research." Rangel will receive the award in April 2007 at the Royal Economic Society's annual conference, where he will also be presenting other research.
