Degrees
Whether working toward one of the Harris School's master's level degrees, any of several joint degrees, or a PhD in public policy studies, students at the Harris School are certain to gain the tools they need to question, to implement, and to evaluate. Rigorous analytical and quantitative preparation, coupled with the opportunity for subject-matter expertise, assure that Harris School graduates are prepared to succeed.
For students, intellectual life centers around three components:
- Core courses provide students technical skills and conceptual understanding-in political economics, statistics, politics and policy, organizational theory, and microeconomics.
- Substantive areas of focus encourage students to tailor their studies to their own interests and career goals, with optional concentrations in three broad areas: social and economic policy, international policy, and politics and institutions.
- Professional tools enable students to acquire proficiency in skills such as budgeting, accounting, management, program evaluation, and survey methods.
The Harris School also offers non-degree programs for students across the University campus and for those adult students taking courses but not enrolled in a degree program.
