Wireless Printing

To access the printers in the student cluster wirelessly:

Note: Wireless printing will not work from Macs. Their default network protocol is non-encrypted, and is therefore not enabled on our network for security reasons.

  1. Open a web browser on your laptop and authenticate to the wireless network using your Cnet ID and password.

  2. Right-click 'My Computer' on the desktop and choose 'Map Network Drive'. (Or from any Windows folder you can select it from the 'Tools' menu.)

  3. Enter the following values and click Finish.
    Drive: (none)
    Folder: \\128.135.232.176

  4. You will be prompted for your harrisschool account name and password. You need to specify the 'harrisschool' domain when you enter your username, like this:
    User name: HARRISSCHOOL\yourusername
    Password: yourpassword

Just close any window that pops up. You now have access to the harrisschool print server. To add the printers to your system, follow these instructions. (You'll only need to do this once.)

  1. Click Start --> Settings --> Printers and Faxes

  2. Choose 'Add a printer' then click Next.

  3. Choose 'A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer' and click Next.

  4. Choose 'Connect to this printer' and enter:
    Name: \\128.135.232.176\Cluster1
    (or Cluster2 or Cluster3).

  5. You'll get a message asking if it's okay to automatically install a print driver, click Yes.

  6. Choose whether you want this printer to be the default, click Next, then Finish.
