Research Interests
I am a Ph.D student at the Harris School. I received my B.A. from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, South Korea and Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Before coming to Harris School, I was working on the effect of minimum wage and living wage ordinances on low-wage workers in Research and Statistics in the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry from 2002 to 2003. Since 2005 my research has focused on the effect of incarceration on the labor market outcomes of inmates and the relationship between mothers’ incarceration and their children’s foster care experience. I am currently working on the comparison between time in Adult Transitional Centers and time in minimum security prisons. My other research interests include childhood obesity, high school dropout, teenage pregnancy and adolescent delinquent behavior.
