|
|
| |
Professor Dan A. Black spoke to a group of Harris School advisory board members and alumni on Thursday, January 31 at the Gleacher Center about his current research on urban labor markets. The discussion, which included numerous questions from the audience, touched on the study’s major findings in four key areas—return on university studies, fertility, female participation in the labor force, and population migration in cities across the country. Among the results of this exhaustive look at urban life, Black and his co-authors determined that cities with universities have prospered more over the last thirty years—and have seen housing prices soar—compared to cities based on industry.
