Dear members and special guests,

I write to update you on the plans for the upcoming Dean's International Council meeting in Chicago (May 6-8, 2009).

We are putting the final touches on a very engaging agenda with interesting speakers addressing issues of international significance focused around two themes: the economy and the balance between security and human rights. Many of you have extensive knowledge of these topics, and we anticipate each of the sessions will prompt lively discussion.

Some of the confirmed speakers are listed to the right, and we will provide further updates on the program itself as we finalize further details. More information is also available on the meeting's
Web site.

If you have not yet registered, please take a moment to
RSVP for the meeting. Please contact Raluca Rustandi (rustandi@uchicago.edu or 773-702-3918) with any questions you may have.

I am looking forward to welcoming you in Chicago!

Best,

Susan E. Mayer
Dean
