Mark Cutis

Mark Cutis joined Shinsei Bank in May 2004 in the newly created position of Chief Investment Officer. His career
background has revolved around trading, investments, and treasury activities. He was formerly with Bayerische Hypo und Vereins Bank,
the Munich-headquartered German Bank. He was originally hired in the New York Branch as Treasurer for the Americas. He subsequently
was reassigned to the Tokyo operation where he was the local CEO. Mr. Cutis was also responsible for developing and directing the
HVB’s proprietary allocation to Alternative Investments.
Prior to joining HVB, Mr. Cutis worked in New York, London and Frankfurt with different companies. These include
a 10-year stint with Merrill Lynch in London and New York as well as being the Treasurer of the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development in London. He began his career with Bank of America at the New York Corporate Service Office as an account officer.
Education
Mr. Cutis holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School as well as a B.A. in Economics from Emory University where he
was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Personal
Mr. Cutis speaks French and Greek and has a working knowledge of German. He is currently studying Japanese and
Spanish. He lives in Tokyo with his wife and three daughters.
