Jane Leber Herr received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2008, with a focus on economic demography and labor economics. Her dissertation research studied the effect of young children on women's careers, including the effect of the timing of a woman's first birth on her wage growth, and variation in the effect of children on mothers' labor supply choices across different high-education career paths. Her current research continues to focus on fertility, both the influence of anticipated fertility on career choices, and actual fertility on career outcomes.
