About CPP: Beyond the Classroom
Housed at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies, the Center for Policy Practice bridges students' classroom experience with the policy experience of the real-world, and connects the larger policymaking community with the School's programs and activities. The Harris School believes that practical application of skills is an essential aspect of public policy training, enabling students to become effective leaders and to make a difference in the world around them.
The Center for Policy Practice provides programming and infrastructure for activities that
- Offer community organizations policy analysis services performed by Harris School students
- Enable Harris School students to apply their classroom skills to real policy issues
- Increase students' professional development through interaction with experienced policymakers
The Center's primary activities include group internships and practica, speaker events, and the mentor program.
