Benjamin Keys, PhD
Assistant Professor, Harris School
Benjamin J. Keys studies issues related to labor economics, urban economics, and consumer finance. Prior to joining the faculty of the Harris School, Keys worked as a staff economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in the division of Research and Statistics. His recent research has focused on subprime mortgages, personal bankruptcy, student loans, the unbanked, and alternative financial services. Keys holds a bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College (class of 2001) and an M.A. (2005) and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan (2009). Before graduate school, Keys worked at the Brookings Institution as a senior research assistant from 2001-2003.
