Kevin O'Keefe is a partner in the law firm of O'Keefe, Lyons & Hynes and a lecturer at the Harris School.

Kevin M. O'Keefe is a partner in the law firm of O'Keefe, Lyons & Hynes. Mr. O'Keefe graduated from the University of Illinois in 1969 with a B.S. in Communications and from IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law in 1973 with a J.D. He became an associate in 1973 and a partner the successor firm O'Keefe, Ashenden, Lyons & Ward in 1976. His practice areas include state and local taxation, government relations, and strategic planning for clients who interface with all levels of government. From 1993 until 1997 he served in the Clinton White House initially in the Office of Presidential Personnel as a Special Assistant to the President in which he had the responsibility for the nomination and confirmation by the United States Senate of the 93 United States Attorneys and the 93 United States Marshals together with the Presidential appointments of all regional appointees. From 1994 until 1997 he served as a Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in which role he acted as a liaison between state and local elected officials and the White House.
Politically active for most of his life, Mr. O'Keefe was a volunteer in the John F. Kennedy 1960 Presidential campaign, the Eugene McCarthy 1968 Presidential campaign, the Robert Kennedy 1968 Presidential Campaign, and the Edward Kennedy 1980 Presidential Campaign. He worked on issues research for the Thomas C. Hynes mayoral campaign in 1987 and the 1989 and 1991 Richard M. Daley mayoral campaigns. In 1992 he served as State Coordinator for the Clinton for President Campaign, as well as the original Clinton Presidential Exploratory Committee, the Clinton Campaign's Lawyers Executive Committee, and as an advisor to the national campaign. He was a delegate to the 1992 Democratic National Convention.
