In Memoriam: Ronald Davis, AM'81, MD'83
Ronald Davis, an alumnus of both the Harris School and the Pritzker School of Medicine, died November 6 after a ten-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
President of the American Medical Association from June 2007 to June 2008, Davis was a preventive medicine and public health advocate. He focused on building the AMA's preventive health care and healthy lifestyle agenda.
Davis was an adjunct professor of epidemiology and the University of Michigan's School of Public Health and director of the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the Henry Ford Health System. During his career, he also served as medical director for the Michigan Department of Public Health and director of the CDC's Office on Smoking and Health.
