Proposal Hearing Guidelines
Requirements:
Before the proposal hearing is scheduled
the student must have completed the following:
- Qualifying examinations
- Qualifying paper
Scheduling:
Students are responsible for contacting their
faculty committee and arranging a date and time for the proposal
hearing. The date and time must also be cleared with the Director
of the PhD Program. Procedure:
Two weeks before the hearing, submit the following
to Cynthia Cook-Conley:
- Proposal approval sheet, signed by at least three members
of the thesis committee
- An abstract of 100 – 250 words (via
email).
- One copy of the proposal (via email), in addition to those given to the thesis committee.
- If research
involves human subjects, statement of Protection of the Rights
of Human Subjects.
Please note that your Ph.D. dissertation should
be written with the understanding that it will become a public
document. At the very least, it will be available through Regenstein
Library.
