Fellowships

All Harris School fellowships are awarded on a competitive, merit basis. In addition, the Harris School also offers smaller scholarships and additional financial aid.

Current fellowships include:

Irving B. Harris Fellowship. For students with exemplary academic and extracurricular records. Learn more.

Jordan Education Trust Fellowship. For Jordanian resident citizens who have been admitted to the one-year A.M. or two-year M.P.P. program. Recipients are required to work for five years in Jordan following graduation. Interested candidates should indicate their desire for consideration in the application for admission. Learn more.

Health Services Research Training Program (NRSA). This traineeship is available to students working toward a Ph.D. with a thesis topic in health services research, including health economics, health policy, medical sociology, organizational behavior in health, social services administration, and other disciplines relevant to health services research. Students must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents in the third or subsequent year of their Ph.D. program at the University of Chicago. Learn more.

Hikmat Kaddoura Fellowship. For Jordanian citizens who have been admitted to the one-year AM degree program and plan to work in Jordan for a minimum of three years following graduation. Learn more.

Mikati Foundation Fellowship. For students from the Middle East or Asia, enrolled in a Harris School degree program that focuses on the skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate public policies especially as they apply to developing counties, and specifically in the Middle East. Learn more.

FUSADES El Salvador Fellowship Program. For El Salvador citizens who have been admitted to the one year AM or two-year MPP program and plan to work in El Salvador for a minimum of two years following graduation. Full tuition, fees, and annual stipend for students who have been admitted to the one-year AM or two-year MPP program. Learn more.

University of Chicago Pre-doctoral Training Program in Education Sciences seeks applicants for five pre-doctoral fellowships in educational research. The fellowships will prepare outstanding scholars to conduct methodologically rigorous scientific research relevant to pressing challenges facing American education. Fellowship recipients will be new students admitted to the 2011 – 2012 academic year to a PhD program in the Division of Social Sciences, the Harris School of Public Policy or the Social Services Administration who are US citizens or permanent residents.
